Jacksonville's Home Schedule Is Now a London Timeshare

A record nine international games, a division rival at Wembley, and a kickoff before most of America has found its coffee. Chip asks the question the league keeps dodging: how much is enough?

Texans at Jaguars. Wembley. 9:30 AM ET. I posted it this morning and I'll say it again: the league's revenue is fine. My breakfast is not.

This is Jacksonville's second straight "home" game in London. Last Sunday it was Eagles at Tottenham. Today it's Houston at Wembley, which by the league's own count is the Jaguars' 16th game in London. Sixteen. At some point Wembley should start forwarding their mail.

It's not even a random matchup. It's an AFC South division game, played in a building neither team calls home, kicking off at 2:30 PM London time so the rest of us get it while the coffee's still dripping. A division game is supposed to be a grudge.

To be clear about who I'm mad at: not Jaguars fans, who set alarms for their own home game, two Sundays in a row. Not London, which keeps showing up for this and deserves better than being the league's second address. I'm mad at the office that looked at all this and said: more.

Because more is the whole plan. The NFL scheduled a record nine international games this season. Melbourne. Rio. London three times. Paris. Madrid. Munich. Mexico City. Seven cities, and a league that still uses the word "growth" with a straight face.

Here's the part that gets me. The Jaguars' own stadium is in the middle of a renovation that won't be finished until 2028. The home team's house is half a construction site, and the league's answer is to keep booking it rooms overseas.

Being a Jaguars home game in 2026 is a timeshare pitch. You showed up for the free breakfast, sat through ninety minutes on "global reach," and walked out owning two weeks in London you never asked for.

So, sincerely: doesn't the league already make enough? Every time I ask, the NFL answers with another kickoff time.

The league's revenue is fine. Somebody please check on my breakfast.
